Memorial for John Wanless

Dear friends,

It is our sorrow to announce that our organist and music director, John Wanless died in the night this past Wednesday, February 19. While John was only our organist for one year, many of us found joy, comfort, and an uplift of faith and heart in his music. Often staying long after the service to hear John play his postludes, many in our congregation were grateful to God for John's gift of music and for the ways in which he enriched our musical worship. John will be missed by us all. Our prayers remain with Fran, Jodi, Terri, and Nicole and their family, and our sorrow joins theirs. May John, with all the saints, rest in peace, and rise in Glory. Amen.

A service to celebrate his life will take place at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, with a reception to follow in the Westminster Church Hall.  If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Intensive Care Unit of the Ottawa Civic Hospital.
