There are many opportunities for involvement, and newcomers are always welcome. Contact information for any St. John’s organizations is available from the Parish Office at 613-283-1261

  • Sunday School- occurs mid-September to June during the 10:00 am service
  • Evensong with potluck dinner- takes place in the fall and during Advent and Lent
  • Take-home study and reflection materials- are provided for the congregation and shut-ins during Advent and Lent
  • Cursillo Prayer/Reflection group- meets weekly
  • Choir- leads and supports the congregation in singing hymns during the Sunday, 10:00 am and funeral services. Members practice weekly, September to June.
  • Beginnings - a contemporary music group, meets weekly for practice and contributes to our worship throughout the year
  • Altar Guild- beautifies our worship space through cleaning and decoration for regular services and special occasions
  • Servers, Taper-bearers, Crucifer, Cup administrators, Prayer leaders, Scripture readers- assist with the celebration of the Eucharist
  • Sides-people- greet Sunday worshipers, distribute bulletins, collect the offering and assist during the Eucharist
  • Video/sound volunteers- record the 10:00 am service for airing on Cogeco (Channel 10) Tuesdays at 10:00 am
  • Coffee Hour - occurs weekly after the 10:00 am Sunday service, September through June
  • Parish events- includes the Harvest Bazaar, the Pancake supper, and the Beef dinner/Auction
  • ACW Group A –  meet monthly for fellowship and planning. They engage in fundraising and support parish initiatives as well as outreach
  • ACW Group B- meet monthly for fellowship and planning. They engage in fundraising and support parish initiatives as well as outreach
  • Community Dinners- occur monthly, September to June (except December)
  • Pastoral Care –  visits individuals in need of fellowship and/or spiritual support who are confined to homes, hospitals or nursing and retirement centers. Members enjoy monthly potluck dinners for fellowship, reflection and support
  • Local outreach projects- includes Healthy Snacks in schools, Smiths Falls & District Club for Youth, Interval House, and the Food Bank
  • Good Stewardship of this planet entrusted to us by God is a priority at St. John’s.
